The Moonlight Quilters of Sonoma County reaches out and supports our community in many ways:
- we make quilts for the YMCA Womens Shelter
- we make quilts for the Pregnancy Counseling Center
- we make small quilts for cats and dogs awaiting adoption
- we make bag-alongs for seniors to use with a walker
- we make grants for quilt-related educational projects
- we make awards for quilt-related items at the County Fair
Each year the Moonlight Quilters of Sonoma County make and donate baby quilts to the YMCA Women’s Shelter and Pregnancy Counseling Center. Fabrics are donated by members and merchants, the loving stitches are completed by members and friends. Approximately 120 quilts are distributed each year.
The community service quilts are turned in when completed. The quilts are donated, during a “Fashion Show” at the August meeting of the guild, when we often hear heart-stirring comments from the two organizations receiving the quilts.
Quilts for Cats and Dogs Awaiting Adoption
We create small quilts for cats and dogs, through the Cat and Dog Cuddles Program. These small quilts go to the Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County adoption program at the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter.
